The portrait of the artist Robert Jenkins Onderdonk (1852-1917) was painted by his son, Robert Julian Onderdonk in 1903. Robert Onderdonk is the painter of “Fall of the Alamo” which hangs in the Mansion Entry Hall. Julian Onderdonk (1882-1922), a native of San Antonio, created the portrait of his father when he was in his late teens. Julian became a well-known artist in Texas for his bluebonnet landscapes.
