The bed has had numerous canopies, curtains, and spreads since the Mansion was built. Today, it has a handstitched Lone Start quilt, and a canopy, dust ruffle, and bedspread made from fabric featuring the Texian Campaigne ceramics pattern. This pattern depicts the Texas War of Independence (1835-1836) and the Mexican-American War (1846-1848) in which Texans played a primary role.
